Effective July 1, 2010, employers in Arizona must withhold for Arizona employment tax under a new withholding rate structure. Rather than basing Arizona taxes on a percentage of federal taxes, state tax withholding will now be a percentage of gross taxable wages.
Employers must obtain a new A-4 from each employee before July 1, 2010, and begin withholding at the revised rate beginning on July 1, 2010. The new form is available from the Arizona Department of Revenue at http://www.azdor.gov/Forms/Withholding.aspx.
