A recent decision was made to delay the implementation of the NLRB poster requirement until April 30, 2012
According to the NLRB's press release, the Notice "states that employees have the right to act together to improve wages and working conditions, to form, join and assist a union, to bargain collectively with their employer, and to refrain from any of these activities. It provides examples of unlawful employer and union conduct and instructs employees how to contact the NLRB with questions or complaints."
This Notice will cause an increase in charges filed against companies, which increases costs to companies to operate. The impact is that this notice is required at private sector employers, not just companies who have collective bargaining agreements. The notice must be posted with other posters and on a company's intranet if that is where a company posts rules and policies. The NLRB also addresses posting the notice in foreign languages. The notice will be available soon.
This was a controversial issue and had over 6,500 comments submitted when the NLRB proposed the poster.
